HIPS

We are excited that you are interested in implementing Hidden in Plain Sight in your community. The Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council for the Concho Valley and the Concho Valley Community Action and Resources for Empowerment and Success (CV C.A.R.E.S.) have experienced great success in educating parents and other community leaders to identify possible signs of drug and alcohol use by teens through Hidden in Plain Sight. We would like to give you and your team the same opportunity for success in your community.

Hidden in Plain Sight is a free community project to help educate parents on possible signs of drug and alcohol abuse by teens. Your team will replicate a teenager’s bedroom to allow parents to “snoop” around and find indicators of drug use and hiding spots. Your team will be responsible for guiding the parents through the bedroom and providing education.

The HIPS manual and instructional video will give your team the necessary tools and information to plan, set-up and execute HIPS in your community. Along with this manual, additional resources will been included in order to help your team streamline the HIPS process. Please watch the video below to learn more.
